What do people live for?

Dear Reader, This is one great video.  It's a commercial for a Taiwanese Bank.  But it's more than that. It's a statement about living life to the fullest until we die.  You'll be glad you watched.  http://joshspector.com/2011/02/13/now-this-is-a-great-commercial/

How much water is 160ml?

Well, Dear Reader, After drinking 3 12 oz glasses of water yesterday morning and feeling as though my back teeth were floating away, I decided to measure 160ml of water.  Guess what, 4 x 160ml is equal to 2 1/2 cups of water.  How much water does your favorite drinking glass hold?  Mine holds 2 cups when I fill it to the top.  It turns out that this Japanese health measure is already part of my daily routine with a few tweaks.  I need to drink 1 1/2 glasses of water in my favorite glass (not full to over flowing).  This works out to the recommended 4 x 160ml.  Take a few minutes to figure this out for yourself.

The next step is to wait 45 minutes before eating.  Hardly a problem since I usually exercise for 45 minutes before eating breakfast.  Add a cup of tea to lunch and supper and this isn't such a major shift.  It's the 2 hours of no eating or drinking that will be the hardest to observe, since I tend to sip water or tea all day long.

Let me know how it goes for you.

How can water help my health?

Dear Reader,
This just came in about Japanese and their health practices around drinking water.  Hope you enjoy reading.  If you decide to begin your day with drinking water in the way suggested, please keep track of your results and let me know.

Drinking Water First Thing In the Morning On An Empty Stomach – Helps Many Diseases

It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers. For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:
Headache, body ache, heart system, arthritis, fast heart beat, epilepsy, excess fatness, bronchitis asthma, TB, meningitis, kidney and urine diseases, vomiting, gastritis, diar rhea, piles, diabetes, constipation, all eye diseases, womb, cancer and menstrual disorders, ear nose and throat diseases.

METHOD OF TREATMENT
1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink 4 x 160ml glasses of water
2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minute
3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.
4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for 2 hours
5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.
6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure/control/reduce main diseases:
1. High Blood Pressure (30 days)
2. Gastric (10 days)
3.. Diabetes (30 days)
4. Constipation (10 days)
5. Cancer (180 days)
6. TB (90 days)
7. Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment only for 3 days in the 1st week, and from 2nd week onwards – daily.

This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.
It is better if we continue this and make this procedure as a routine work in our life. Drink Water and Stay healthy and Active.
This makes sense .. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals ..not cold water. Maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain…

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you.
It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.
Once this “sludge” reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine.
Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks:
• Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting,
• Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
• You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.
• Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
• 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
• Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let’s be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive…

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to everyone they know, you can be sure that we’ll save at least one life.

Please be a true friend and send this article to all your friends you care about.

Staying healthy while travelling: Adventures in Scotland and England

Dear Reader,
I'm back from a fabulous trip to Edinburgh and London with my two 13 yr. old grandsons, Carsten Rossen and Daniel Schleh.  They wanted to see castles, so that is what we did. Starting in Edinburg we spent a day touring Bamburgh Castle (a sweet, totally livable and very old castle on the sea coast with the Isle of Lindesfarn in view),  and Alnwick Castle (home of the Percys, Earls and Dukes of Northumberland since 1309).  The current family vacate on April 1st so the public can enjoy it, too).  Alnwick castle was used to film Harry Potter's Hogwarts from the exterior.  It was a thrill to be there.  Of course Edinburgh Castle was the highlight of Scotland.  Magnificent setting.

Warwick Castle in the midlands of England took a whole day.  Build by William the Conquerer in 1068, it is owned and operated by Madame Tussaud's and is tastefully done up with actors and events of the mid 1400's.  The Earl of Warwick was opposed to Henry VI and the Yorkists, so it was all about preparing to take over London and oust the York king in favor of the Lancastrians.  They even fired a Tribouchet with a ball of fire 100 yards down a field.  Very exciting.  There were cat walks and turrets to explore and climb, sword fights to witness and a falconer flying his birds of prey.

Of course the Tower of London was the main destination in London plus a ride on the London Eye, the most magnificent ferris wheel I've ever ridden.

Staying healthy on this trip and helping Danny overcome a cold took a lot of Shaklee's supplements. I had Cinch bars and Fiber advantage bars and Energy Chews to help me keep the digestive track going and my brain perking through the time change.  I had Pain Cream and Pain Relief Complex to help with the poor back.  I was able to do my exercise routine every morning, getting all the joints mobile for the day.  And I wore my hiking shoes all the time.  To heck with trying to be fashionable.  I had my Cinch shake every morning and the little packets of Vivix to help keep my going.  For Danny, there was Shaklee's Defend and Resist, Nutriferon and Vita C Sustained Release.  For more info about these helpful supplements, check out www.HiHoHealth.com.

I wore my "What if is does?" button on my purse and handed out my www.TiredNoMore.com card to several American tourists as well as a number of English and Scottish people who were curious.  "What if it does Help you Live longer and feel healthier.  Take a look at my website," was my response to any questioner.

The business rolled along with orders coming through every day and I was even able to check my voice mail back home on Skyp and put an order in for a caller.  What a business that allows one to earn while playing.

Welcome! Sharing thoughts, ideas and reports about health and wealth

Dear Reader,
A daughter in law has often asked, "what do you actually eat?"  And a step daughter hopes I will teach her daughter to cook healthy food.  So I thought I'd share a little more of my personal health preserving strategies.  Maybe they will help you or someone you know.

Hardly a day goes by that I don't eat greens.  I keep my steamer on the stove, wash kale (all kinds are delicious but I think the dark narrow leaf is the most tender and tasty.  Here's a link to kale pictures.  The one I'm talking about is second from the left top. Just pull the green away from the stem in bite sized pieces, drop in the top of the steamer and 10-15 minutes later, it's done. Sprinkle a little sea salt on top and a small amount of feta cheese for a tasty infusion of flavanoids!   Enjoy.  Betsy
